It lies between the rivers Marecchia and Ausa and is a city of contrasts. In the centre, for instance, ancient narrow streets and cosmopolitan squares, such as Piazza Cavour, Piazza Tre Martini and Corso d'Augusto; are in contrast to the tourist zones and beach areas where lively bars and restaurants attract families and couples alike.
Rimini is divided into districts, each with their own unique character. Among them are Bellariva, Comune di Rimini, Marebello, Marina Centro, Mirabelle, Rivabelle, Rivazzurra, San Giuliano Mare, Torre Pedera and Viserba. The 'must see' attractions include the beautiful Tiberius Bridge, which dates from the 1st century AD, the Pigna fountain and the great Arch of Augustus.
